2027: No coalition can stop Tinubu — Oyo rep
A member of the House of Representatives representing Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency, Remi Oseni, has assured supporters that no political force or coalition can prevent the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
Oseni, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State, gave this assurance on Saturday in Ibadan, during the inauguration of the Remi Oseni Committee of Friends Assembly Leaders across the 33 local government areas of the state.
PUNCH Online reports that a coalition of opposition parties recently adopted the African Democratic Congress as their platform for the 2027 general elections.
The coalition includes key political figures such as former Senate President David Mark, former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola, ex-Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, and former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, among others.

However, Oseni insisted that the coalition poses no threat to President Tinubu’s second-term bid.
“There is no force or coalition of political parties that can stop President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027. We are taking over power in Oyo State come 2027. APC will produce the next governor. Whether I emerge as the governorship candidate or not, I will lead the charge to ensure our great party returns to power in this state,” he said.
Highlighting his performance in the last general election, Oseni added, “What I did in Ido/Ibarapa speaks volumes. I’m the only one in the entire state who was not challenged in court after the election because of the overwhelming number of votes I polled. You don’t challenge a lion.
“I am also the only person across the country who delivered all polling units in my constituency for President Tinubu. That shows our strength and commitment.”
Speaking on the committee’s formation, Oseni described the gathering as the beginning of a movement inspired by hope and sustained by a shared commitment to the people of Oyo State and Nigeria.
“Our number one agenda is delivering Oyo State for President Tinubu in 2027. Dear leaders, this is not just a political statement — it’s a declaration of partnership and support. We must rally behind our president and collaborate to move the country forward.
“We must recognise the bold steps the President has taken, especially the courageous removal of the fraudulent petrol subsidy. While it has caused temporary hardship, it is a necessary sacrifice for long-term sustainability”, he stated.
Quoting Tinubu, he added, “To achieve greatness, one must be willing to endure temporary pain for future gain.”
According to Oseni, the removal of the subsidy will open up greater investments in education, healthcare, and infrastructure — areas he described as critical to lasting development.
“This is a moment of transformation. Nigeria is rising from the ashes of the past and redefining itself. We must stand with President Tinubu and support him on this transformative journey,” he concluded.
He further emphasised that the committee would be guided by core values such as justice, equity, accountability, good governance, shared prosperity, and sustainable development — all aimed at building a renewed Oyo and a better Nigeria for all.
