Vandals flee, abandon stolen cables, bikes in Kebbi

The Kebbi State Police Command has recovered high-tension cables and motorcycles allegedly left behind by suspected vandals during a patrol in Ribah District, Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area.

The Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Nafiu Abubakar, in a statement on Tuesday, said that the suspects ran away after spotting a joint patrol team of police officers and local vigilantes along the Saki/Unashi road around 6:30 a.m. on Monday, June 16, 2025.

“They abandoned their motorcycles and the vandalised cables as they fled to avoid being caught,” the statement said.

The police have secured the recovered items, and investigations are ongoing to find and arrest those responsible.

Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Sani, commended the patrol team for their quick and professional response.

Sani promised that the command would continue to protect important infrastructure and ensure the safety of the people.

He also urged residents to stay alert and report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station.
